The short version
beautydewlabs is built and run by a one-person team, founded in 2026. There is no content farm and no ghostwritten reviews behind it — just a database, a parser, and a set of rules we publish and stick to. We started with Korean beauty because that's where labels are hardest to read from outside Korea: our ingredient pages carry the Korean label names alongside the INCI names, so what you see on the box is what you can look up here.
How the data works
Product ingredient lists are parsed from the labels brands and retailers publish, then matched to a standard INCI ingredient database. Every product page shows its sources, and the decode tool runs the same parser on any label you paste. Prices come from real retailer offers — we never invent a price, a rating, or an offer, and pages simply show nothing where we have no data. Some product links are affiliate links; they never change what ranks where, and paid "Featured" placements are always labeled as such.
Derived numbers follow the same rule: dupe candidates are ranked by shared label ingredients you can verify yourself, and routine warnings cite the interaction they're based on — checkable arithmetic, not invented scores.
Editorial standards
Researched ingredient profiles state their evidence level, cite their sources, and show when they were last reviewed. Anything AI-assisted is labeled as AI-generated on the page. Safety-adjacent tools like the pregnancy checker and the fungal-acne checker cite the lists they check against, and our Learn articles carry references you can follow to the underlying research. None of this is medical advice — for medical questions, ask a dermatologist.
Corrections
Parsers make mistakes and labels change. If a product page shows the wrong ingredient list, a stale price, or an ingredient profile says something the cited source doesn't support, tell us — we'll check it against the source, fix what's wrong, and the page's reviewed date will reflect the update. Reports from people who spot errors are the fastest way this database gets better.

A public contact address is being set up. In the meantime, the fastest way to flag an error is a post in the community.
